Elul-Rosh Hashana Membership Letter
BS”D
8 Elul 5781
Dear Members of Khal Tzemach
Tzedek;
I am writing you to announce the opening of our
annual membership drive which is coupled with the request for seats for Rosh
Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Baruch Hashem
we will be able to daven this year as one minyan. Please reserve your seats as early as possible.
Last year we had to have 2 minyanim and the seating arrangements were
different, I
would like to personally request that requests
for seats be done no later than 18 Elul - 26 August so that we can
accommodate your seating preference.
As in
years past the cost for membership in our shul is $770 plus $36 per month for
the building fund for a total of $1200.
This entitles you to 2 seats, a discount rate for the mikveh and the
ability to vote and have a voice in our shul.
Additional seats for unmarried children will be $36 and all other guests
will be $100.
This
is our shul’s biggest fundraising drive of the year and I would like to
encourage EVERYONE to be involved. Everyone
who is using the shul on a regular
basis, whether for davening, learning, or socializing has a clear
responsibility , in whatever way they can, to support our shul.
There remains the option of associate membership and the
cost remains $600. This entitles you to
a discount rate for the mikveh but no seats for Yom Tov. The cost of those seats will be $100 each. This is geared to supporters, who do not
live locally and are in shul during the week.
In order to
reserve seating in shul you must either personally speak to or email or text
either Mordechai Litzman or myself so that we can address any outstanding
balances owed the shul. I can be reached
at (646) 436 1289 or apolinger@gmail.com and Mordechai Litzman can be reached at
(845) 222-0988 or mordy620@gmail.com.
This membership drive remains our shuls biggest source
of income and everyone is strongly
encouraged to participate in the large costs involved in supporting our Rav, regular minyanim, plus central Farbrengens for Yoma D’Pagra, a
beautiful seforim library, mikveh and Beis Medrash.
With a heartfelt bracha for a K’siva V’Chasima Tovah,
Avraham Polinger

HELP SEND YIDDISHE CHILDREN TO CAMP!!
HELP SEND YIDDISHE CHILDREN TO CAMP!!
Summer is fast approaching. Thousands of Yiddishe boys & girls will be out of school & heading off to camps to have fun.Unfortunately, not all of these boys & girls' parents are able to afford the high cost of camp, and as a result, these beautiful Yiddishe Neshamas will end up either staying home in an unstructured environment the whole summer, or Rachmana Litzlan going to a goyishe camp instead.
At Keren Yeled V'Yalda, (part of the National Committee for the Furtherance Jewish Education) our goal is to make sure these children's parents receive the necessary funds to send them to structured Jewish camps, such as Gan Israel, Camp Emunah, Pardes Chana, Camp Chaya, Chayolei, Yeshiva Kayitz Kingston, YSP, & many more. Our organization has been doing this for nearly 30 years, & we have dozens & dozens of Yiddishe boys & girls of various different levels of religous observance to amazing Jewish summer camps.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe spoke greatly about the importance of sending children to Jewish summer camps:
“During the summer months when children are not restricted to school discipline and are less inhibited by their secular studies, it is an excellent time to give them every opportunity to attend an overnight camp, or at least a day camp, which is administered by a staff who treasure the Torah-true way of life, and that together with their regular recreational activities time be set aside each day for Jewish educational study and instruction. This summer experience could imbue the young boy or girl with the necessary warmth and vitality of Yiddishkeit which would remain with them for the rest of the summer and the year to come."
These camps have amazing affect on the lives of these children, but also the lives of their families. Many boys have come back home & taught their fathers to put on Tefillin. Many girls have come home from camp & taught their mothers how to light Shabbos candles. It's truly wonderful what a single summer can accomplish.
Unfortunately, the cost of sending these children to camp is very high. On average, it costs us $1,500 to cover a child for the summer, but can vary by case. If the family is $500 short, we'll cover it. And if a family is $2,000 short, we'll also cover it. No expense is spared when it comes to ensuring a Yiddishe child will not Chas V'Shalom fall through the cracks.
THIS IS WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Keren Yeled V'Yalda relies on your generous donations to send these children to camp. We have a "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND" policy, (much better than the one President Bush had), and we make sure that every family that comes to us for help gets it.
Over the past few years, the needs has been rising, and unfortunately the donations cannot cover them. But we are confident that with your help, & the help of Hashem, we will be able to make it this year. As Dovid HaMelech said, "B'Elokai Adaleg Shur, - With my G-d I will jump over the wall."
Please help us jump over the wall & hit our funding goal. Your donations, no matter how small, will greatly impact our next generation!!
WE THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATION!!
MAY HASHEM, BLESSED BE HE, RADIATE INTO YOUR LIFE AND THE LIVES OF YOUR CHILDREN THE SPIRIT OF YIDDISHKEIT & CHASSIDUS IN THE HIGHEST LEVEL.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Simcha Werner, Director
