Pre-Pesach Notes and Announcements

1) A message from our Rov:

As we prepare for the auspicious day of Shabbos Hagadol, I take the opportunity to wish everyone a heartfelt Gut Shabbos; may we have only Besuros Tovos in a revealed way.

I also wanted to take a moment to address the concern of haircuts before Yom Tov. Although it is ideal to do so as a preparation for Pesach, and also because haircuts are ordinarily not taken again until Erev Shavuos, some people will not have the opportunity to do so due to this year’s challenging conditions. Because of this, there is room to be lenient this year and take a haircut on Lag B’Omer if you will not manage before Pesach. The Rebbe occasionally took a haircut on Lag B’Omer, despite its inherent public nature, and there is ample room to act in similar fashion in a year such as this.

Good Shabbos,
Rav Boruch Lesches

3) A message from Rabbi Simcha Werner

Dear Anash,
Matzah instills in us Emuna. Emuna connects us with Hashem. The Rebbe stressed that we must accomplish that every Jew has Shmura Matza for the Seder - and, if possible, sells his Chametz. We must dedicate ourselves totally for this, because this is really dedicating ourselves to Hashem and connecting ourselves with the Rebbe.
Please, if you think of anyone to give Matzah, see that they get! If you’re short of Matzah, short of money, contact us, and we will Bli Neder try to help you.
While for some this may be difficult, however, this is in a sense nullifying ourselves to Hashem which draws down from the greatest levels of Kedusha which even a Tzaddik with his Avoda can’t accomplish’, (Torah Ohr (page 114, column 4). Let nothing stand in our way, even ourselves.
If you have any questions please contact NCFJE Matzah department at monseymivtzamatzah@gmail.com.
