Unique Eretz Yisroel Tzedak Opportunity

Chabad of Ofakim operates the only charitable Food Distribution Center located in Ofakim, a city of located some 17 kilometers from Gaza.

The Center is providing daily prepared meals to approximately 300 seniors (primarily immigrants from the FSU with no immediate family) and food packages to about 100 families. These are seniors and families who cannot get around due to fear of the rocket attacks.

In addition, because of the Food Center’s central location near the entrance to Ofakim, about 200 soldiers receive prepared meals at the Center. These are soldiers either entering or leaving Gaza. The Center has also arranged for a near-by Mikveh to be open during the day for soldiers to shower, etc., and is providing clean undergarments for them to change.

Anyone interested in contributing to these efforts which cost about $1,300 each day should please contact Yisroel Schulman at yschulman@nylag.org or (212) 613-5050.
