For the first time, Rabbi Chaim Tzvi and Chaya Ehrenreich of Chabad JEC of Chestnut Ridge opened a Dreidel House and Chanukah Gift Boutique in a storefront on Main Street in Nyack.

Chabad JEC Brings Gifts & Joy to Hospitalized Children

Area children decorated Chanukah cards and wrapped Chanukah gifts for hospitalized children at Nyack Hospital’s Pediatric Unit at Chabad JEC's Dreidel House in Nyack last week. The children then delivered the gifts as a group at the hospital where they were met by the nurses and directors of the Pediatric unit, who accepted the gifts on behalf of the hospitalized children.

Chabad JEC has been coordinating this effort for a number of years.

“It started when our daughter, Chana Ehrenreich, was hospitalized during Chanukah 10 years ago.”, said Chaya Ehrenreich, co-director of Chabad JEC (Jewish Enrichment Center).

“My husband met a toy store owner who wanted to donate Chanukah gifts for children who needed some extra cheer. We distributed the gifts that Chanukah to all of the children at Nyack Hospital and have been doing it ever since.”
