Town of Ramapo Hurricane Sandy Update 4

We have weathered Hurricane Sandy.

Our Police and Highway crews are out working to maintain public safety and clear our roads. We continue to urge our residents to stay off the streets and stay indoors as much as possible.

Town Hall is open for business.

Dry ice will be distributed today, Tuesday, October 30, from 1pm to 3pm at the Provident Bank Ballpark, Pomona, NY.

O&R estimates that power will be restored to the majority of customers within 10-15 days. At present about 300 O&R crews are out doing damage assessment, tree trimming, and working on overhead lines.

O&R reports the following outages in Ramapo:
Airmont - 2,275 customers
Chestnut Ridge - 2,878
Kaser - 293
Hillburn - 184
Montebello - 1,641
New Hempstead - 1,325
New Square - 479
Pomona (Ramapo) - 145
Sloatsburg - 230
Spring Valley - 7,274
Suffern - 3,251
Wesley Hills - 1,372
