Farbrengen for Chof Tes Elul

There will be a farbrengen at Tzemach Tzedek following the 9:30 PM Maariv minyan this Tuesday, 29 Elul, September 28, in honor of the birthday of the third Lubavitcher Rebbe, the Tzemach Tzedek, in 1789.

Esrogim for Anash

Good news for the Monsey community!

Rabbi Zalmen Leib Markowitz, who has been providing Monsey Anash with Esrogim for the past 25 years, and Rabbi Efrayim Keller, who has been selling Esrogim for many years in Crown Heights, have joined together to service the growing local Anash community.

The main Esrogim sale will be take place at the home of Rabbi Markowitz, 24 Briarcliff Drive (downstairs entrance), during the following times:
  • Sunday, Tzom Gedelaya, October 2: From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM 
  • Monday through Thursday, October 3 through 6: From 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM 
  • Sunday, October 9: From 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM 
  • Monday and Tuesday, October 10 & 11: From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM 
To purchase directly from R' Efrayim Keller, you can go to his house, 7 Earl Court, on Motzai Shabbos before Selichos from 9:00 PM to 12:15 AM and on Motzai Shabbos Shuvah from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Lulavim and Hadasim will be available Motzai Yom Kippur from 8:45  PM until 1:15 AM.

Esrogim will be sold on a first come first serve basis.

Less Expensive Route to City

As of this past Sunday, the cost of the tolls for crossing bridges and tunnels into Manhattan jumped $4 to a new total of $12.

For EZPass users, tolls spiked $1.50 to $9.50. The tolls are scheduled to rise even further with Hudson River tolls going to $12.50 by 2015.

As a public service, we are providing an alternate route to the city that has less expensive toll costs.
  • Palisades Interstate Parkway South 
  • Take exit 9E to merge onto 87 South 
  • Cross Tappan Zee Bridge* (see toll info below)
  • Merge left onto I-287 E 
  • Take exit 3 toward New York City/Sprain Parkway South 
  • Merge onto Sprain Brook Parkway 
  • Exit onto NY-100 S/Central Park Ave toward Central Ave 
  • Merge onto I-87 S via the ramp on the left to New York 
  • Take exit 3 toward E 138 St/Madison Ave Bridge (or exit 2 - Third Avenue Bridge) 
  • Turn right onto Harlem River Drive South / FDR South
