Seeking Ride to Crown Heights

We are two people looking for a ride from Monsey to Crown Heights for this Shabbos, Parshas Tetzaveh. If you have room and would be kind enough to take us, please call 845-371-5918.

Sign Up for Emergency Notification

Supervisor Christopher P. St. Lawrence has announced that the Town of Ramapo has contracted with an emergency communications network to alert residents in times of crisis.

Called CodeRED, the system provides Ramapo officials with the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or to the entire town in cases of emergency. Residents have to register in order to be added to the database. Registrants can opt to be notified in the format of their choice; phone, text or email.

It is important that all businesses and residents register for the service, as well as people who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cell phone or VoIP phone as their primary number. No one should assume they are already in the database. The CodeRED system gives individuals and businesses the ability to add their own phone numbers directly into the system's database.

To register for the CodeRED database, please click here.

Required information includes first and last name, street address (physical address, no P.O. boxes), city, state, zip code, and primary phone number. Additional phone numbers can be entered as well. Street addresses are required to ensure emergency notification calls are received by the proper individuals in a given situation. The system works for cell phones too, but it needs to have an associated street address to provide relevant messages.

For residents who do not have internet access, please call Elaine Silverberg, Supervisor's Office, Town of Ramapo, at 845-357-5100 Ext.324 who will provide assistance by phone.

“In these times of high-speed communication, we have the opportunity and obligation to reach out to our residents at times of emergency in order to provide for their safety” stated Supervisor St Lawrence. He continued, “We urge our residents to notify their family members so that they, too, can be added to the emergency notification database”.

Light Kiddush

Yossi and Chaya Light invite the community to a kiddush this Shabbos, Parshas Titzaveh, in honor of the recent birth of their twin daughters, Sarah and Yehudis.

The men’s kiddush will take place following davening at Beis Menachem, 360 Route 306, and the women’s kiddush will take place at the Light home, 3 Lois Lane (the first right after Grandview off of 306), from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Davening at Beis Menachem is at 9:30 AM.

We look forward to seeing you there!

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their help after the twins were born. As soon as we moved here a few days before Rosh Hashana the community made us feel welcome right from the start. Once the twins were born the help that was offered was non-stop and we are truly grateful. Thank you for everything!
