Shabbat Dinner at RCC
This past Friday, a Shabbat dinner on campus at RCC was enjoyed by approximately 120 staff, faculty, alumni, students and families of students. Rabbi Dov & Shevy Oliver, directors of the Center for Jewish Life at RCC, coordinated the event.
Guest entertainer Moshe Hecht recited kiddush and also performed a number of riveting solos throughout the night. The new Dean of the College, Dr. James Siegel, who attended the event with his fiancée, recited Aishes Chayil in English. College President Cliff L. Wood welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of events of this nature being held at the College.
In addition to the fully catered meal, an RCC alumnus, Derek Lamer, entertained with a ten-minute standup comedy routine, followed by a surprise performance of, "If I Were a Rich Man" by a guest "Tevye the Milkman" and his milk cow in full costume.

Cheder Girls and Pre-School Happenings
The UPK Boys and Girls classesat Cheder Chabad made a mock wedding in honor of last week's Parsha, Parshas Vayeitzei. The kinderlach were really excited about the wedding and they all participated.
The girls in grades 7 and 8 made their very own Challah in connection with Hilchos Shabbas that they are learning. The girls kneaded the dough by hand and then each girl then got a piece of dough to shape.
The girls in 5th grade made a well out of chocolate covered wafers and marshmallow fluff since they were learning in Chumash that Moshe Rabbenu found his wife Tzipora at a well. For Parshas Hashevua they also learned in Parshas Vayeitzia that Yaakov Avinu found his wife Rochel Immeinu at the well.
