Mrs. Malkie Leitner to Sit Shiva

Boruch Dayan HaEmes – We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Mr. Betzalel (Salka) Egelberg OBM, the father of Mrs. Malkie Leitner.

The levaya will take place tomorrow, Wednesday October 20, at 11:30 AM beginning at Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 1652 Central Park Avenue in Yonkers, NY and will then proceed to Old Montefiore Cemetery, 121-83 Springfield Boulevard in Springfield Gardens, NY.

Mrs. Leitner will be sitting Shiva on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday at 4 Sage Place in Eastchester, NY, then on Motzei Shabbos, Sunday and Monday at 76 Regina Road in Airmont, NY.

Rabbi Berel Zaltzman to Farbreng This Motzai Shabbos

This Motzai Shabbos, Parsha Vayeira (October 23), Rabbi Berel Zaltzman will be farbrenging for the Yungeleit at the home of Tzili Ehrenreich, 6 Whitefield Road in Chestnut Ridge, beginning at 9:00 PM.

Rabbi Zaltzman grew up in communist Russia where he had tremendous Mesiras Nefesh for Yiddishkeit and Chinuch. After many years he moved to Israel, and then to the United States where he became a Shliach of the Rebbe in Los Angeles and then established the Fairlawn Jewish Russian community in New Jersey.

First "Evening of Learning" Tonight

The first Evening of Learning for men will take place tonight, Tuesday, October 19, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Tzemach Tzedek.

All members of the community, from all of the shuls, are strongly encouraged to make an effort to participate and help create a spirit of Achdus and Torah learning in our community! Every person counts! Let our children see what we really care about.

Feel free to learn with a chavrusa, attend a small shiur or study alone.

The Evening of Learning is a weekly gathering of Anash from throughout the greater Monsey community dedicated to creating a spirit of Achdus and Torah in our growing community and takes place every Tuesday night at 8:30 PM at Tzemach Tzedek.

Rabbi Gancz Inspires Yungeleit

Close to 40 men from the Monsey area gathered in the home of Avi and Naomi Weinstein last night for an inspiring class by Rabbi Aaron Dovid Gancz about Chinuch and growing in Yiras Shamayim.

The class was the first in a series of new shiurim that were initiated by a group of Yungeleit with the aim of increasing the amount of Torah learning in the fast-growing Monsey Anash community.
