Cheder Girls Get a Lesson on How a Sefer Torah is Written
In honor of שבועות when Hashem gave us the Torah, the nursery through 3rd grade at Cheder Chabad Girls had the privilege to see how a ספר תורה is written. Rabbi Grossbaum gave a workshop that was very educational and exciting. They even got a a small piece of klaf to be able to write their names on. Thanks Rabbi Grossbaum for sharing with us how a real ספר תורה is written!

EZ Pass Express Installed at Exit 16 on Thruway

For the first time, drivers on the Thruway will be able to pay their tolls at Exit 16 without slowing down.
Two northbound highway speed E-ZPass lanes are expected to open at 5 a.m. Friday, if the weather cooperates. Two southbound highway speed E-ZPass lanes are slated to open at 4 a.m. Saturday, weather permitting.
The Woodbury toll barrier, located about 5 miles north of the Rockland-Orange County border, is the first location on the state Thruway where both passenger and commercial vehicles can pay their toll while driving at 65 mph.
This morning at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new tolls, Thruway Authority Executive Director Michael Fleischer said keeping vehicles moving would relieve congestion at the site.
"In addition to being more convenient and efficient for passenger and commercial E-ZPass customers, Highway Speed E-ZPass will also reduce the number of idling vehicles, resulting in a positive impact on the surrounding environment," Fleischer said.
About 16 million vehicles pass through the Woodbury tolls each year — or 42,000 each day — and 64 percent of them have E-ZPass.

Seeking Bas Mitzvah Teacher
Looking for someone who would be willing to tutor a very bright 14 year old and her slightly disabled sister together for belated Bas Mitzvah preparation.
The father is willing to pay well for someone to engage both girls and give them basic Jewish prep and education (holidays, learning to read Hebrew at least for one sister, introduction to mitzvahs, etc.) between now and late fall.
If you are interested please call Bracha Meshchaninov at 917-821-0694.
