Statements of Interest of Those Running for K'hal Tzemach Tzedek Board of Directors

Elections for the Board (Officers and Trustees) will be held on Sunday, August 30th at 8:00 PM at the Congregation Tzemach Tzedek Lubavitch of Monsey.

The following are the Statements of Interest from those running for the Board of Directors:

Yitzchok Abramowitz
This is a notice of intent to run for re-election as Recording Secretary of K'hal Tzemach Tzedek Lubavitch of Monsey. I offer to serve on the Building Committee as well as the Membership Committee (or any other Committee that the President or Board feels that I can be of help). My main purpose for doing so is seeing through the necessary expansion of our Shul. This includes the main Shul, the kiddush room, adding a new classroom for children's activities (or adult education) and a proper office for Rabbi Lesches.

Doniel Goldfarb
Why I want to run for a Board position?
I want to continue to represent the shul members by serving on the board.
What I hope to accomplish as a member of the Board?
As a board member I hope to help the Shul find ways to meet its budget and grow.
I agree to serve as the Chair of at least one standing committee of the Shul and to donate an average of 8 hours per month to the Shul.

Avraham Hayman
Why I want to run for a Board position?
In the past 12 years, I have expended a major amount of time, effort and donations to help the Shul be a Makom Kadosh and an inviting place to daven, learn and Farbreng. I hope to continue these efforts in the future.
What I hope to accomplish as a member of the Board?
To again help the Shul run smoothly, help grow the Shul, and make the Shul the center of Lubavitch in Monsey.
I agree to serve as the Chair of at least one standing committee of the Shul and to donate an average of 8 hours per month to the Shul.

Shimon Kroll
Why I want to run for a Board position?
To play a role of service to the community as a gabbai sheini and be in a position of influence in order to help others.

What I hope to accomplish as a member of the Board?
Through the shiur I give each morning and its preparation and the time acting as gabbai.

Mordechai Litzman
Why I want to run for a Board position?
I have been on the board of Tzemach Tzedek from its very inception over 20 years ago.. I feel that I can contribute to the growth and the spirit of the Shul. Since I am there several hours every single day I am familiar with most aspects of the Shul, and I am doing my best to help out in many ways, especially encouraging people to attend shiurim, and I also lending a hand with the physical needs of the Shul and the Mikvah.

What I hope to accomplish as a member of the Board?
Greater attendance at davvening and shiurim, and trying to strengthen the Shul to grow bigger and better B’Gashmius and B’Ruchnius together with Rabbi Lesches and the Shul board; participating in the coming expansion of the Shul.

I agree to serve as the Chair of at least one standing committee of the Shul and to donate an average of 8 hours per month to the Shul. I wish to continue to serve as Gabbai Tzedaka on the Tzedaka Committee as well as being the Corresponding Treasurer. Also doing the financial bookkeeping for the Sefer Torah project as well as helping on the Mikvah Committee.

Tzadok Leib Messing
Why I want to run:
As treasurer for about 10 years, I have the experience to continue to make improvements in our growing community.

What I hope to accomplish:
To continue to streamline the accounting function and work on new Educational Foundation.

Why I want to run for a Board position?
To continue to assist the growth and needs of the community.

What I hope to accomplish as a member of the Board?
IY”H to help with the expansion of the Shul building, assist the continued growth of the Anash community, and address the concerns and the desires of the members.

Why I want to run for a Board position?
Someone has to and I have been around for a while.

What I hope to accomplish as a member of the Board?
What is best for the community.

Tzvi Yitzchok (Hershel) Rosenbluh
Why I want to run for a Board position?
I have been asked by the current Gabbai, Reb Zalman Leib Markowitz to run for the position of Gabbai Rishon due to his constant absence on Shabbosim. Rabbi Markowitz travels abroad very often and cannot fulfill his Gabbaic duties.

What I hope to accomplish as a member of the Board?
I hope to carry out the duties of Gabbai honestly and faithfully, ensuring a fair and accurate Aliyah and Chazan system.

I agree to serve as the Chair of at least one standing committee of the Shul and to donate an average of 8 hours per month to the Shul.

Yisroel Schulman
Why I want to run for a Board position?
I want to continue to work with our esteemed Rav, the Gabbayim and other members of the Board to grow our Shul in ruchniyos and gashmiyos. I believe I possess the necessary skill sets to further the goals of the Shul, which I believe is the central Chabad organization in the Monsey area.

What I hope to accomplish as a member of the Board?
I hope to enable the Shul to continue to grow and flourish even in these economically challenging times.

I agree to serve as the Chair of at least one standing committee of the Shul and to donate a minimum of 8 hours per month to the Shul.

Zvi Webb
Why I want to run for a Board Position? What I hope to accomplish.
Under the leadership of our esteemed Rav , Rabbi Lesches, SHlita, our shul continues to grow (B’lee ayin hara).

I would like to continue to serve our community in the capacity of Trustee, assisting our President along with other board members in formulating shul policies, building expansion plans, etc.

I think I can offer a unique perspective to policy discussions due to my life experiences.

As board member, I have been successful in bringing in funds to the shul.

I would like to continue as Chairman of the Welcoming and Membership Committees.

As I have a previous commitment to be in CA on August 31, I will not be able to attend the General Membership Meeting.

9:30 or 10:00?

At the K'hal Tzemach Tzedek Lubavitch of Monsey annual Member Meeting which includes elections for the Board of Directors, the membership will be asked to vote on a resolution changing the Shabbos morning Shachris davening time from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM from Shavuos through Sukkos.

The Board has stipulated that changing the time will require a vote of two-thirds of those members, who are in good financial standing, which attend the meeting.
