Kakiat Park Closing for Remainder of Summer

MONTEBELLO - One of Rockland's most popular parks is about to shut down for much of the remainder of summer.
Kakiat County Park will be closed starting "on or around July 15" for construction work, said R. Allan Beers, coordinator of the county Division of Environmental Resources.

Signs state that the park will be shut until Aug. 30, but Beers said the contractor had until Sept. 15, weather permitting, to finish the job.
