Hey Teves Farbrengen

There will be a farbrengen with Rabbi Lesches in honor of Hey Teves this Wednesday night, December 31, at K'hal Tzemach Tzedek at 8:45 PM. Maariv will precede the farbrengen at 8:30 PM. All are encouraged to participate.

If you would like to sponsor or co-sponsor this farbrengen please contact Yisroel Schulman at yschulman@nylag.org.

Hey Teves is celebrated as a day of rejoicing in Lubavitch since on this date in 1987 the U.S. Federal Court issued a decision in favor of Agudas Chassidei Chabad regarding the ownership of the priceless library of the 6th Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson. The ruling was based on the idea that a Rebbe is not a private individual but a communal figure synonymous with the body of Chassidim. The Rebbe (Rabbi Yoseph Yitzchak's son-in-law and successor) urged that the occasion be marked with time devoted to Torah study as well as the acquisition of new seforim.

Plans call for widening the road - parking is restricted because of the narrowness of the road - as well as improvements to drainage and construction of new sidewalks and curbs.
