Mivtzah Matzah - Letter from Rabbi Werner
Boruch Hashem
5 Nissan 5768
Dear Anash,
It is well known that the Rebbe made a Mivtzah Matzah. Everything the Rebbe says and does is based on the Torah. That means Hashem, through His Torah, is telling us to do this.
The kzayis of Matzah which we eat at the Pesach Seder, has a powerful effect on our emunah on which our entire connection to Hashem is based. Everything that takes place during the Chag, during Sfira and at Matan Torah (Shavuos) is only a revelation of this kzayis that we have eaten at the Seder.
This is probably one of the reasons why the Rebbe so strongly stresses that everyone should have Shmurah Matzah by the Seder. Because this has an effect on one’s entire personality and greatly strengthens the person’s attachment to Hashem. Therefore, it is imperative that we endeavor with all our kochos, to make sure every Jew, friends, relatives, neighbors or co-workers, has a kzayis Shmurah Matzah for themself and everyone at their Seder. We should also try to get them to sell their chametz. In this way we are saving them every second from transgressing two lavim.
For anyone that needs Matzah for this Mivtzah, we are able to supply him with as much as needed. You are not under any obligation to pay. There are also Pesach brochures available which have a contract for Mechiras Chametz. Please contact us at 845-356-3850.
Wishing you a Kosherin and Freilachin Pesach and that the kzayis Matzah should permeate our neshamas and establish a new and higher relationship with Hashem.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Simcha Werner

Falling in Love or Climbing in Love?
By Dr. Yisroel Susskind
How hard do we have to work to find, create and maintain an ecstatic marriage? Or is the ecstasy something that comes naturally and spontaneously?
The Lubavitcher Rebbe expands on a traditional halachic distinction between Shabbat (Sabbath) and Yom Tov (i.e., Jewish holidays or festivals). Shabbat is an event that occurs without requiring man's participation. At sundown, each and every Friday night, the holiness of Shabbat enters our world, whether or not people have taken any particular action. In contrast, traditionally the start of a Yom Tov is based on a Jewish court's decision, setting the calendar for that month. Click here to continue this article.
